Scene Night on Friday, July 18
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Wilton Playshop
Age: Entering 3rd – 8th grade
Fee: $600. for session |
The emphasis for this class will be to teach basic acting technique
through a series of theatre games and improvisations, integrating
elements of scene study such as physical action, scene analysis,
character study and development. Students will also explore their
voices and movement through song and dance. The children will
be assigned scenes from selected classical and contemporary works
for children, where they will begin to learn how to build a character
working with one to two partners on a specific scene. Children
will also have the opportunity to perform scenes from the American
Musical Theatre repertoire, incorporating all aspects of music,
acting, and movement. This workshop will culminate with a “scene
night” comprised of straight acting scenes as well as scenes
with music where students will present their work for an audience
of family & friends.
