The Wilton Playshop will sponsor a “Musical Journey,” event to benefit the theater on Saturday, March 8. The event will take place at the Playshop at 15 Lovers Lane.
Sponsors may select from one of three options, which include musical performances and dinner or cocktail receptions. The benefit will help restore the Playshop, according to Janice Dehn, a Playshop spokeswoman.
“This is the first production to take place at the Playshop since the board closed its doors last fall, after discovering excessive damage in the building’s annex, costume closet and beyond,” Ms. Dehn said. “We still have more repairs to make — but we are on our way to restoring the gem that is the Wilton Playshop. We are grateful to the many Wilton residents and businesses that have already donated to our capital campaign — this benefit will allow many more to donate while enjoying either a dinner or cocktail reception and some high-quality entertainment.”
The performers include John Congdon, Danielle DeCrette, Bob Filipowich, Megan Fuentes, Sarah Michaels, Ralph Pastore, Sarah Pfisterer, Adrienne Reedy, Victore Tenore, Beverly Ward, and Kirby Ward.
Sponsorship options include “You’re the Top” for $200, featuring a performance with intermission champagne reception and chocolate tasting, along with a post-performance dinner in private homes, ”One More Angel in Heaven“ for $150, with a wine bar reception and performance with intermission champagne reception and chocolate tasting, and “You Can Always Count on Me” for $75, with a performance with intermission champagne and reception and chocolate tasting.
The Wilton Playshop has been in operation since 1937.
Tickets must be ordered by Feb. 21. Information: 762-7629, or wiltonplayshop.org.
